I was elated when her grandfather announced our marriage. After all, the love of my life and I were finally getting married, despite her hesitance due to her feelings for someone else. I knew her attachment to him was anxious and complicated. She went inside with her dadaji to talk and returned after five minutes. I was shocked when she said yes to the marriage. However, before I could process this, a sudden outburst caused Shivnya to leave the scene.

"Abhimanyu, whom do you want to marry?" Dad asked me.

"Abhimanyu, you know how much I love you. I'll become whatever you want, but please marry me," Janvi pleaded, coming closer.

"Abhimanyu, would you honor to reply?" Aarav shouted.

"First of all, Miss Janvi, I am not in love with you. Stop making up these stories. I've warned you many times to stay away from me, but this is out of limits. If you try anything like this again, you won't like the consequences," I said, taking a few steps back.

"I WANT TO MARRY SHIVNYA SHAURYA RAJVANSHI," I announced. Yuvraj and Raghuveer uncle smirked.

"I think I've made myself clear. And Janvi, don't even think about us," I said firmly.

"He's lying! He was in love with me!" Janvi shouted.

"Oh, really?" I said with a smirk.

"Yes!"

"Okay, just answer one simple thing," I interrogated. "What's my birthdate?"

"It's 17 May," Janvi answered quickly. I knew she would say that because she copied it from the internet, where there's incorrect information about me.

"I think I don't need to clarify further," I said with a chuckle. She looked puzzled.

"Bhai's birthday isn't in May," Tanmay said with a grin.

"Stop it now, Janvi," Viren uncle shouted.

"Nani," she whined, running to her grandmother.

"Please, listen to her," Madhu aunty pleaded with Viren uncle.

"Madhu, just be quiet for some time," Viren uncle shouted again, clearly frustrated.

"Ajay, we'll discuss everything else at the Sunday brunch. If everyone agreeable?" Viren uncle said, placing a hand on my dadaji's hand.

"Yes, I think we should leave now," Dadaji said. We left the place, but I was worried about where Shivnya had gone. She didn't hear the full conversation. Already angry with me, how would this affect her?

I can't believe Dadaji did this to me. First, that woman ruined my life, and now this. I can't trust his words. I need to check if Advaith is really not at the safe place or if this is just part of a plan.

I drove my car at 110 km/h and reached the safe place in 20 minutes. I saw the stretcher and the IV machines. The lights were on and the nurses were there, but the doctors and Advaith were not. I screamed and threw the stretcher into a corner. I called the security present there.

"What the hell were you doing?" I shouted at the security.

"Ma'am, people came and said they were Viren sir's people. I called to confirm with sir," one of them spoke.

"Bloody hell, I'm paying you, not he. You follow my orders, not someone else's. You motherfucker!" I shouted, but deep down, I knew I had given access to Dadaji and Raghuveer uncle and instructed them to follow their orders.

"Sorry, ma'am."

I drove back home, where my house in-charge Barley was standing.

"Barley, I am busy. Nobody should disturb me."

In a moment of despair, I found myself in a torturous place. Alone, I shed my clothes and inflicted wounds upon myself, both internal and external. As blood began to stain my body, a palpable reminder of my perceived failures and shortcomings, I continued this self-destructive pattern. Each strike of the whip, each cut from the blade, underscored the weight of my perceived inadequacies. The promise I made to Advait's mother, a vow now broken, echoed loudly in my mind. The departure of a significant woman in my life, influenced by familial dynamics and unjust accusations, deepened my sense of abandonment and betrayal. One more cut on my arm. The burden of a forced marriage, a union with Abhimanyu, further complicated my emotional landscape. For the first time in my life, I felt safe with someone, felt I could rely on someone, but even that was taken from me. Some more whips on my body and my face was full of tears.

When I noticed my clothes turning red with blood, I left the area. Barley approached me, gesturing for assistance since she couldn't speak.

"Barley, just calm down. I know I shouldn't do this, but it was necessary. Please be calm," I said and went near her. I went to my room, took a cold shower to calm my nerves, and returned. Barley, a 45-year-old woman I met in London who has been by my side ever since, taking care of my needs while I support her lower-class family, made me lie on my stomach and started cleaning and bandaging my wounds.

"Barley, give me the meds. I'm sleeping, so don't disturb me. If someone comes looking for me, say I'm not home." She passed me the meds, and I took them. She left the room.

After the Rathore family left, there was chaos caused by Janvi and Madhu's insistence on marrying her to Abhimanyu.

"I'm going to check on diii," Aayansh declared.

"I'm coming with you," Divit said.

"Me too," Sanj added.

"No one is going anywhere. She's not a child; she can take care of herself. Everyone, go back to your rooms," Viren ordered angrily. Everyone left reluctantly, but he was concerned for her, knowing she wouldn't want to meet anyone at the moment.

After four hours, Shivnya woke up and saw several missed calls from her siblings. She decided to call Aayansh.

"Aayu," Shivnya said.

"Diii, where are you? Are you okay?" Aayansh asked, panicked.

"I'm at home and I'm fine. There's no need to worry," Shivnya replied in a bored tone.

"I'm coming over. I need to talk to you," Aayansh insisted.

"No, I want to be alone."

"But diii-" Ayansh was persistent

"I've said no." Shivnya said in a strict voice and aayansh said in sad voice

"Fine, diii."

Until Sunday, she worked from home due to her unhealed wounds causing sudden bleeding. Aayansh and Divit tried to contact her about a new project but couldn't meet in person. During their conversations, business matters were prioritized.

Sunday Morning

Shivnya was working on her laptop when her phone rang. The caller ID read "MR. VIREN" instead of the affectionate "Dadu."

On Call :

Viren (V) : You have to reach the mansion by 12:30.

Shivnya (S) : Why?

V : The Rathores are coming to discuss the marriage.

S : I thought your niece was getting married.

V : Shivii, in what language are you talking to me?

S : Sorry, Mr. Viren Rajvanshi, but I learned this language from you. Have you forgotten?

V : Just reach on time, or there will be consequences.

S : You don't have to remind me every time. I will be there on time.

---

"Barley, you're coming with me to the Rajvanshi mansion," Shivnya instructed. Barley nodded.

"Take out some appropriate clothes for the visit and pack some extras-only dark ones. We can't risk anything. Bring bandages, too," she added. They both went to her room, quickly bandaged her wounds, and dressed. Despite Barley's selection, Shivnya chose to wear oversized black clothes to avoid any discomfort.

When they arrived at the Rajvanshi mansion, everyone was already there.

"Diii!" her siblings shouted in unison.

"Beta," Kamini said, approaching her.

The three siblings rushed to hug her, but Barley stopped them.

"Diii," Sanj exclaimed, surprised by Barley's action.

"It's okay, Barley," Shivnya said, allowing her siblings to hug her.

"But diii, why did she stop us from hugging you?" Divit asked.

"Actually, I don't like hugs, so she thought I wouldn't want to hug you either," Shivnya explained. They both nodded, making an "O" with their lips.

After greeting everyone, they sat at the dining table. The men were still deep in conversation. Abhimanyu entered, noticing the seat next to Shivnya . He sat beside Shivnya.

"You're sitting in the wrong place," Shivnya said in a low tone.

"I don't think so," he whispered in her ear.

"You should sit with your future wife," she replied, turning to face him.

"I am sitting with my future wife," Abhimanyu said with a smirk.

"I don't have time for this nonsense," she said, standing up.

"What are you trying to say?" Abhimanyu asked, holding her wrist.

"You love Janvi. You should marry her," she said, her heart aching at the thought.

"I don't love Janvi. I made that clear the other day, Ms. Rajvanshi. I want to marry you," Abhimanyu declared.

"There's no need for you to do this because of me. Marry the one you love," she insisted.

"That's exactly what I'm doing," Abhimanyu muttered under his breath.

"Huh," Shivnya snorted, jerking her hand away.

"Janvi lied. I don't love her, and this marriage is my choice," Abhimanyu said softly, stepping closer.

"Yes, diii, Janvi lied. She didn't even know Abhimanyu bhaiya's birthday," Sanj added, approaching them.

"So what? Mr. Rathore's birthday is July 9," Shivnya said matter-of-factly.

"How do you know that?" Yuvraj asked.

"When we were kids, bhai always took us to his birthday parties , and your brother used to irritate me then also always running behind me" Shivnya replied with a poker face and a bit of irritatably and affection

After settling down, they started having lunch. Barley stood with the other workers.

"Ajay, shall we consider this marriage confirmed?" Viren asked Ajay.

"Yes, absolutely," Ajay replied with a smile.

"Alright then, Yuvantika, please call the priest," Viren said.

"I have some conditions regarding the marriage," Shivnya announced, standing up.

"Shivnya!" Viren shouted.

"Viren, let her speak," Ajay said.

"Mr. Shaurya Rajvanshi and Mrs. Yuvantika Rajvanshi will not be present at the wedding," she began.

"I will not stop working after marriage."

"And the wedding will be very intimate, with only those present here attending."

"Beta, first of all, you can do whatever you want after the wedding. You will be our daughter-in-law, but to us, you are no less than a daughter," Ranveer said gently.

"But why such an intimate wedding?" Darsh asked.

"Look, I just got a new project in which Mr. Rathore has invested a significant amount. If news of our wedding gets out, it will seem like he invested in his wife's project, which is not true. My professional life will be messed up. Also, bhai and bhabhi just got married. If news of our marriage also comes out, it will look like a business deal. If you want it to seem like a business deal, I have no problem," Shivnya explained.

"You didn't need to give such an explanation, beta," Darsh said with a chuckle. The Rathores smiled and agreed to keep it intimate to prevent any leaks to that person.

"But beta, we'll need your parents for some rituals," Ridhima said.

"I don't have parents. Orphans do get married, and if anything needs to be done, my siblings are here. You can ask them," Shivnya said softly, with a fake smile. Her statement shocked everyone, but they weren't entirely surprised as Avantika had already told the family about what she overheard.

As they were eating, Shivnya barely touched her food, just playing with it. Suddenly, her bandaged hand was exposed.

"Shivnya dii, how did you get hurt?" Tanmay asked.

"Woo..." She tried to come up with an excuse, nervously scratching her neck.

"Ms. Rajvanshi," Abhimanyu raised his eyebrows.

"Actually, I accidentally cut myself with a knife," she said nervously, but Abhimanyu wasn't convinced.

"Dii, show us," Divit insisted.

"It's nothing. Just eat peacefully," Shivnya said, shutting down the conversation. Everyone continued their meal, but the tension lingered in the air.

After lunch, Pandit Ji arrived, and everyone settled in the hall. Shivnya was in her room, her excessive walking and working making the pain worse. She couldn't take painkillers because they would make her drowsy. She came down and sat next to Abhimanyu. Noticing the paleness on her face, Abhimanyu was about to ask her something when Pandit Ji announced, "You can get them married on 1st March, otherwise, the next auspicious date is six months later."

The women and youngsters objected, wanting the wedding after six months, but the men and Abhimanyu agreed on 1st March.

"The wedding will be on 1st March," Viren declared firmly.

"But why so soon?" Shivnya asked, distressed.

"We have decided," Viren responded curtly as Pandit Ji left.

"Two weeks? How will everything be arranged in one week?" Divit worried.

"Everything will be fine. All the functions will be at home, so there's no need to worry," Viren assured.

"Let's start shopping tomorrow to get everything done on time," Amrita suggested excitedly.

Shivnya felt overwhelmed and just wanted to leave and rest. "I think we should leave," she said with a sigh.

"No, you will stay here until the wedding," Viren insisted, wanting to keep her close before the wedding.

"No, I have work to do, I have to go," Shivnya said angrily, standing up to leave.

"Ms. Rajvanshi," Abhimanyu called out, making her stop.

She turned back, "Yes, Mr. Rathore?"

"Aree, call each other by your names now. Enough of this Mr. Rathore and Ms. Rajvanshi," Yuvraj teased, making everyone lagh.

"Yuvii, shut up," Abhimanyu scolded him, silencing the laughter.

"Actually, I need to talk to you," Abhimanyu said, approaching Shivnya.

"Yes, please," she replied softly.

"Alone," he specified, causing the youngsters to grin mischievously.

They moved to the garden, standing face to face.

"Actually, I want to clear something with you," I began.

" Go ahead," Shivnya replied weakly, clearly feeling unwell.

"That day on the bus, I...," I started, but she interrupted.

"I realized it later, so you don't need to clarify," she said.

"And that day, I shouldn't have behaved like that after dinner. I'm really sorry for that," I apologized, noticing she was avoiding eye contact.

"It's okay, I shouldn't have behaved like that either," she admitted.

"Are you unhappy with this marriage?" I finally asked, the question burning in my mind.

"What difference does it make?" she responded in a bored tone, hurting me with her indifference.

"Look, if you don't want to get married, you can say no.," I offered, with a heavy heart

"As if I have any options," she muttered under her breath.

"Huh?" I asked, not hearing her clearly.

"Nothing," she said.

"Seriously, if you don't want this marriage, you can tell me clearly. We can talk to our families " I said again because I want her , I love her , but I don't want to marry her without her consent

" Look, you don't want to get married, so tell me clearly, there is no need to twist this nonsense"

She roared on me and I was shocked by listening her statement

" huhhh ???? " I was stunned

" Aap janvi se pyaar karte hai " She just declared the statement casually has she even thought what is she saying I love her only her I can't even think to give her place to anyone

" You don't have to sacrifice your love because of me i will talk to the family " She said , why the hell she think that just because her sister said that thing but I have also gave my explanation now why is she thinking I am in love with her sister

" I don't love her " I said calmly because I don't want raise my voice against her and escalate the argument.

" Kitna jhooth bolenge Mr. Rathore " She said and made a disguised face why does she even think that I love her , in our vacation all the time I was looking her , whenever I got the time we spend with each other , I didn't even talked with janvi on our trip , then why is she thinking like that

" I am not lying I really don't love her she is lying believe me " I explained myself again because I don't have any option

"Lies, all lies. I saw you two together," she accused me with moist eyes , and I was stunned.

"When?" I asked, stepping closer to her.

" Yaad kijiye wo mehndi wale din or haldi wale din bhi, aapne Hume janvi samjh ke haldi lagi di thi , I don't think you have memory loss problem " She said with a gulp in her voice and now she took the step closer to me , her eyes were continuously looking me and now I realized my mistake shittttttt , that is true her eyes made me feel guilty , and now I realized I have dug my own grave

" Boliye ab hai koi jawab " She accused me again

I felt a pang of guilt, realizing my mistake. "I...," I started but was at a loss for words

" maan lijiye ki aap usse pyaar karte hai " She pressed

" HUM USSE PYAAR NAHI KARTE HAI AAPKO YE SMJH KYU NHI AA RHA HAI, AAPKO MISUNDERSTANDING HUI HAI, HUM CLEAR KAR SAKTE HAI SAB " I shouted on her because this time she accused my love I grab her arms in hand and it was a tight hold her eyes we're looking in my eyes and tears filled with her eyes and when I realized that , I loosen my hold

" Ahhhh " She winced in pain. Maybe my hold was too tight but my hands were moist also. Is there also a cut from a knife ?? Shitt I have hurted her

" Barley " She shouted and took the steps behind and I took some steps near her but she continuously moved back

" Barley " She shouted again and now barley and our cousins came

" Ghar chalo " She took the hand of barley in her hand as if she taking support of her our cousin asked her also what the matter but she said nothing

" Ms . Rajvanshi "

"Ms. Rajvanshi, wait!" I called again, but she was already gone.
