In the dimly lit chamber, shadows danced across the walls, illuminated by a solitary 8-Watt bulb hanging from the ceiling. Sharp implements adorned the walls - knives, whips, belts, and handcuffs - casting an ominous aura over the room.

Yet, the one enduring the torment was none other than Ms. Shivanya Rajvanshi, the formidable owner of a thriving business empire.

Each crack of the whip elicited a hiss of pain from Shivnya's lips. "Harder," she commanded, her voice tinged with a mixture of agony and authority. The punishment intensified, leaving welts and small cuts in its wake, painting her skin with streaks of crimson (like a PSYCHOPATH , which gave her pain like nothing else.

Despite the brutality, there were no screams in the chamber, only tears and silent anguish. After what felt like an eternity, Shivnya dressed her wounds and retreated to an adjacent room for much-needed rest.

Her slumber was abruptly interrupted by a phone call from her chachi , Mrs. Kamini Moksh Rajvanshi. The news she received was shocking - it was her brother's engagement day, and Shivnya was expected to attend promptly.

~~

She was on her private jet, heading to her elder brother's engagement. Shivnya knew she had to be on time; otherwise, her chachi would give her yet another lecture. She had already received an earful over the phone.

After four hours, she arrived home, managing to be neither late enough to miss the engagement nor early enough to be punctual. She headed directly to her room, avoiding eye contact with everyone.

Upon entering her room, she was shocked to find a half-naked man casually wandering around as if he owned the place. She never allowed anyone into her private space, and this intruder's audacity infuriated her.

She shouted at him, her roar echoing through the house, causing everyone to wonder who had met their doom today.Soon, both the boy's mother and Shivi's mother arrived to see what was happening.

To their surprise, the boy stood there, listening to Shivi's tirade as if he were a student being scolded by a teacher.

"Hold your horses," her mother said, trying to calm her down. The boy's mother quickly asked him to put on his kurta. Her mother took her by the wrist and dragged her outside, urging her not to say another word.

" Maybe he mistakenly entered your room because his room is adjacent. He could have been lost, " her mother explained.Shivnya listened silently, seething but not responding, aware that she couldn't afford to lose her temper further.

After the discussion, they returned to Shivi's room, where the boy and his mother were talking quietly. As soon as they sensed someone approaching, they stopped their conversation and hurriedly apologized before leaving.

" I don't know why people love to interfere in my life and my things. This ridiculous boy has the audacity to wander around in my room. I just hate that, and he has to pay for it," Shivnya muttered under her breath, irritation evident in her tone.

"Shivnya.... Shivnya....." Her mother's voice broke through her thoughts, pulling her back to reality.

"Yes?" Shivi responded.

"Where were you lost?" Yukantika inquired.

"Nowhere, just tell me what's up?" Shivnya replied, trying to hide her frustration.

"Take this dress and hurry up. You're already late," Yukantika said, her voice tinged with impatience.

Shivnya examined the beautiful lehenga her mother handed her. It was stunning, but the backless design revealed scars, cuts, and bruises on her back and belly. She couldn't possibly wear it.

" Can't I wear something else that's more comfortable? I'm tired," Shivnya pleaded in a monotone voice.

"No," Yukantika replied firmly.

" I'll wear something else," Shivnya retorted, her tone becoming stern.

"Ok, but hurry. There are some extra clothes in your closet. Go and check, and come fast. We are already late," Yukantika said before leaving the room.

"Hmm," Shivnya acknowledged.

After rummaging through her closet, Shivnya found a pretty yet simple baby pink kurti that was perfect for hiding her scars. After precisely 20 minutes, she was ready to go. Checking her appearance one last time in the mirror, she made her way to the backyard of their mansion, where the engagement was being held.

The entire Rajvanshi mansion was adorned as lavishly as a newlywed bride, as the most awaited marriage was about to take place-the eldest son of the Rajvanshis was getting married. The house was embellished with white lilies and lush greenery, creating an enchanting atmosphere.

My brother's engagement took place in the backyard of our house, kept small and intimate. As I arrived, I was met with a mix of reactions - some happy to see me, some shocked, and others eagerly awaiting my appearance.

I made a beeline for the stage to greet my brother and his fiancรฉe. My brother seemed to be deliberately ignoring me, despite his fiance attempts to coax him into acknowledging me. Knowing his stubbornness, I decided to employ a little trick to get his attention.

" Chachi, areee Chachi, suniye, can you listen for a moment? " I called out to my both chachi

" What now? " Kamini replied, clearly annoyed as she was preoccupied with something.

" You won't believe it, but someone was misbehaving with me over there " I said, stifling a laugh. ( After all, no one could catch a glimpse of me without my permission.)

" Really? " Nandini chachi responded, uninterested as she was familiar with my antics.

" Chachi, can anyone even lie about such a thing? " I retorted irritably.

" Yeah, you, " Kamini jokes.

" Chachi, please, help me out " I pleaded, approaching her with puppy eyes and a whispered request.

" Hmm " Kamini agreed, playing along.

" What did that guy do? " Nandini chachi asked with concern, sensing someone eavesdropping on our conversation.

" He dared to touch me inappropriately " I replied innocently. ( Well, as innocent as I can be.)

" What?! " My brother's sudden outburst startled everyone.

" What? What?! " I feigned innocence.

" Who was it? I'll..." He started angrily but was interrupted by my laughter.

" Bhai " I chuckled.

( ๐˜‰๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ )

" What now? " He asked, clearly exasperated.

" You should stop falling for my nonsense " I teased, chuckling as someone snapped a photo of me.

" You know I'm protective of you. Why do you always do this? " He asked innocently.

" Aww, so sweet and cute of you, but since you weren't talking to me, I had to take drastic measures, you know," I replied, adopting a baby voice.

He lightly tapped my head.

" Bhai!! " I whined.

( ๐˜‰๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ต๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ๐˜ณ!!! )

" I know you're independent now, but..." He began, only to be interrupted by his mother.

" Enough of your chatter, the function is about to start. We're already late " she interjected, silencing us both.

After her brother's engagement, Shivi found solace in the company of her favorite cousins, deliberately avoiding the presence of those she didn't care for. As the festivities wound down and only close family and friends remained, Shivi felt drained and made her way to leave. However, her departure was halted by her dadi's stern call. Recognizing the voice of her formidable grandmother, Shivi reluctantly approached.

" Dadi? " Shivi greeted, trying to maintain a polite tone despite her apprehension.

" Tumhe sharam nahi aati hai? " Her dadi's words dripped with disapproval, directed solely at Shivi.

Shivi furrowed her brows in confusion, trying to decipher her dadi's cryptic accusation. It was just her and Avantiika's families left, and Shivi couldn't fathom what she might have done to incur her dadi's wrath.

" kis baat ka? " Shivi inquired, her tone a mix of curiosity and frustration.

"Mumma " Moksh shouted at her .

" Madhu, " Viren shouted .

Shivnya chose to ignore it. She knew engaging in a confrontation would only escalate matters further, and she wasn't in the mood for another argument with her dadi, whose disapproval she had grown accustomed to.

The comments from Madhu stirred discomfort among those present, yet they chose silence, familiar with her unyielding nature. Countless attempts had been made to reason with her, to no avail, as she remained steadfast in her ways, much like her granddaughter. It was an open secret that Madhu harbored resentment towards her independent granddaughter, who challenged societal norms and pursued her own beliefs.

While Madhu staunchly adhered to traditional gender roles, preferring women to focus on domestic duties, her granddaughter's defiance only deepened their strained relationship. Despite their awareness of underlying tensions, the true reasons behind Madhu's disapproval remained veiled, concealed by a web of untold secrets that lingered within the Rajvanshi family, known to all except the younger generation.

Instead, Shivnya quietly retreated to her room, seeking refuge from the tension that lingered in the air. As she changed out of her formal attire, she winced in pain, the physical reminders of her past indiscretions still fresh on her skin. Despite the discomfort, Shivnya refused to let her scars define her, slipping into a loose shirt that concealed her blemishes.

Later, she found herself engrossed in her laptop, unaware of the time passing by. When dinner time arrived

( There was a strict policy in there house that they have to eat the food with whole family if they are home )

" Diiiiii," Aayansh called from outside her room.

" Yes, Aayu, coming," she responded, opening the door and lingering in the doorway.

" Badi maa is calling you for dinner," Aayansh informed her.

" What's the time?" she inquired curtly.

" 8 o'clock," he replied casually.

" This early?" she expressed in surprise.

" I know you've been out of the house for almost 2 months, but have you forgotten the house policy?" he remarked.

" Yeah, I remember," she replied Irritably

" Go, I will come," she dismissed him.

" Listen-"

" Yeah?" Aayansh responded.

" After dinner, meet me in the study," she instructed, and he nodded before leaving.

After five minutes, Shivnya emerged. While everyone else was engrossed in conversation and enjoying their meal, Shivnya appeared distracted, lost in her thoughts.

" Shivnya," her mother called out.

" Shiviii," Aarav echoed.

" Huh?" she responded absentmindedly.

" In which la la land were you?" her mother queried.

" Nothing, tell me what's up," Shivnya replied, absentmindedly toying with her food.

" Let's go shopping tomorrow. Your brother's wedding is in a week, and we need to go to Jaipur. We just need to finalize your dresses and jewelry," Kamini suggested, adopting a considerate tone.

" I can't come tomorrow. Buy whatever you want, but before finalizing anything, send me pictures of the options. Or better yet, I'll instruct my designer about my preferences, and you can decide from there," Shivnya responded between bites.

" But, beta -" Nandin began before being interrupted by Shivnya

" Chachi, I don't have time for all these ladies' things. I have more important matters to attend to," she explained in a conciliatory tone.

" When do you have time?" her mother interjected angrily.

" Shivuuu, it's my wedding," Aarav intervened softly, wanting to spend time with his younger sister.

" I know, that's the only reason I'm here," Shivnya responded thoughtlessly.

" Shivnya," Shaurya chimed in with a strict tone.

As tensions simmered at the dinner table, Shivnya made a swift exit, exchanging a meaningful glance with her brother Aayansh as she left the room..

She was all set to leave, ascending the stairs with determination, and heading out of the house.

"Shivnya," Yuvantika called out, noticing her daughter leaving so early in the morning.

"Going somewhere this early?" she inquired.

"Office," Shivnya replied absentmindedly, engrossed in her phone.

"Oh," her mother gasped, sensing something amiss.

"Tell chachi that I'll be late, so please don't wait for me at dinner, and don't bother sending lunch either," Shivnya requested, her tone tinged with frustration.

"Why?" Yuvantika questioned, her concern evident.

"I said , I'll eat when I'm hungry," Shivnya stated tersely, her annoyance mounting.

"Shivnya ," Shaurya intervened sharply, witnessing the unfolding drama.

Before her husband could say anything, Yuvantika intervened, "We're just concerned about you."

"You don't have to be, so please stop it," Shivnya retorted firmly, and without another word, she left the house.

"Shivnya... Shivnya... Sunoooo," Yuvantika called out, her voice filled with worry and longing.

" Advi, I came to meet you. How are you? I know you are not fine and , I am enjoying this life I should be in this place not you " she whispered softly, her voice tinged with guilt as a tear welled up in her eye." Forget about that. You know Aarav bhai is getting married, and I'm so happy to see him happy," she said, trying to mask her inner turmoil with a smile.

" Advi, I've been waiting. It's been eight years since that incident. Please, wake up from this slumber. For eight years, I've been living just to seek revenge. I've lost all sense of purpose. Please, stop shutting me out. I'm exhausted now. Come and take your 'angry bird' away from this world. Advi, I don't just want you; I need you " she pleaded, her voice trembling on the verge of tears. It was hard to reconcile this vulnerable side with her reputation for ruthlessness.

" Adviii " she sobbed, clinging to him as if her life depended on it, reluctant to let go but knowing she had to.

Their moment was abruptly interrupted by a phone call.

" Goodbye, Advi. I'm leaving now. I'll come to see you tomorrow. Please wait for me, and don't feel neglected because I haven't been giving you enough time " she said in a childish tone, trying to lighten the mood.

" Bye for now " she whispered, stealing one last glance at him, planting a tender kiss on his forehead before reluctantly tearing herself away.

~~~
Today has been exhausting. I'm just drained from this chaotic day, and now I have to go home and endure their lectures. What a wonderful life, I thought sarcastically. Once this marriage hoopla is over, I'll be out of here and back to my own apartment.
