CHAPTER 24

ABHIMANYU'S POV

We were at the dining table, and Maa asked, "Ab kaisi hai tabiyat, beta?"

( how are you feeling now, child??  )

"I am better now, Maa. Aapke kaadha ne sach mein magic kar diya," Shivnya said, making everyone chuckle. The joy in my family was palpable.

( I am better know, maa your concoction did magic )

"Chalo ab khana khao. Aur aaj main bilkul nahi sunungi ki mann nahi hai, bhook nahi hai. Achhe se khana khaogi tum. Tum itna kam khana khogi toh beemar toh hogi hi," Maa said, serving food onto her plate.

( Come on, now eat your food. And today, I’m not going to listen to ‘I don’t feel like it’ or ‘I’m not hungry.’ You will eat properly. If you keep eating so little, of course you'll fall sick )

"Ridhimaa, Shivnya ko khana dena hai, lecture nahi," Papa teased, making everyone laugh again. We enjoyed our dinner and then went to our room to sleep.

( Ridhimaa , Shivnya need food not your lecture )

~~~
I woke up to find my fierce, cute kitten sprawled across me again. I love when she is so close to me. If I could I would keep her always beside me in my embrace . She probably had no idea she was using me as her personal pillow, her head on my chest, her hands on my torso, and her legs entwined with mine. After a whole day of fighting about the kaadha, she now slept peacefully.
I carefully shifted her off me, trying not to wake her. If she woke up, she'd definitely lecture me. I checked her temperature; it was normal. Satisfied, I headed to the gym, feeling grateful for the peace and happiness in our lives.
SHIVNYA'S POV
I woke up feeling incredibly rested, relishing in the blissful sleep I'd experienced for the past two days. As I scanned the room, I noticed Abhimanyu was absent, likely off to the gym. I headed to the bathroom to freshen up, opting for a coat and pants since I still had to go to the office. Yesterday's meetings had been rescheduled due to my health.
Emerging from the bathroom, I found Abhimanyu sitting on the couch with his shaker and phone. He glanced at me and asked, "Biwi, you are not going to the office"
His endearing nicknames like jaan, begum, biwijaan, shivvi, shivu, for me sent butterflies fluttering in my stomach, filling me with happiness.
"Why?" I turned to him, curious.
"You haven't recovered that much," he said, approaching me with concern evident in his eyes.
"I'm fine. I have important meetings," I replied calmly, explaining my reasons.
"No, biwi, you're not going," he said firmly, his tone leaving no room for argument.
"Yes, husband, I am going. Now go and change. I have to go downstairs," I insisted, slipping out of the room before he could stop me.
" Biwiii "
" Biwi listeen "
Downstairs, I found Maa arranging plates in the kitchen. "Maa, can I help with anything?" I offered.
"Are you going somewhere?" Maa raised her eyebrows inquisitively.
"To the office," I admitted meekly.
"Your health has just improved, and you want to go to the office?" Maa scolded, drawing amused chuckles from Tanmay and Yuvraj.
"But Maa, I have an important project. Please let me go," I pleaded, putting on my best puppy-dog face.
"Okay, fine. But you must be back by 6 o'clock sharp, or no more office for you," Maa relented, chuckling at my antics.
"Promise, Maa. I'll be back by 6," I exclaimed happily, eliciting smiles from everyone as we settled into our seats for breakfast.
" Tell us also about your new project " baba asked and I explained him about the new project while eating the breakfast
As we made our way to the parking lot, Abhimanyu approached me, reminding me of my promise. "Biwi, remember your promise. You promised me you'd have a proper meal."
I patted his shoulder affectionately. "Yes, Abhimanyu. Now let's go. We're both getting late for our offices." With that, we headed to our respective workplaces in our cars.
VIREN'S POV
"Finally meri bacchi khush hai, finally usse uske maa baba mil gaye. I am so happy for my child," I exclaimed with joy, feeling relieved that my daughter had finally found her parents.
( Finally, my daughter is happy, she’s finally reunited with her mother and father. I am so happy for my child.)
"Ajay, usse Rajasthan le jao. Hum aur delay nahi kar sakte hai," I said in a serious tone, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.
( Ajay, take her to Rajasthan. We can't delay any longer)
"Aur suno, waha kisi ko bhi pata nahi chalna chahiye ki Shivnya waha hai, tum sabke saath. Usse ghar se bahar mat jaane dena," I instructed, ensuring Shivnya's safety and privacy.
( And listen, no one should find out that Shivnya is there with all of you. Don't let her go outside the house )
"Tum uski tension mat lo, hum aaj hi baat karte hai ghar par," Ajay reassured me, standing up to leave.
( Don't worry about her, we'll talk at home today itself)
"Ajay, dhyan rakhna humari bachi ka," I said with a heavy heart, feeling the weight of the responsibility on my shoulders
( Ajay take care of my child )
Ajay held my shoulder and said, "Ab woh humari bhi bachi hai, Viren."
( she is now our child also, Viren )
The words resonated with me, reminding me that Shivnya was not just my daughter but also a part of their family.
AUTHOR'S POV
The dinner table was filled with laughter and chatter as everyone enjoyed their meal. Ajay, sitting at the head of the table, cleared his throat to gain everyone's attention.
"Sunday we are leaving for Rajasthan as the newlyweds have to visit the kul devi temple, and we will stay there till Holi," he announced in an authoritative tone, setting the plan for their upcoming trip.
Both of them retired to their room after dinner. Shivnya took her laptop and started working on it, determined to organize everything for their trip.
"Shivii , so jaiye, kal kar lijiyega," Abhimanyu suggested, concerned about her working late into the night.
( shivii sleep, do it tomorrow )
"Hume Sunday ko Rajasthan jana hai, toh humein abhi se saara kaam organize karna hoga," Shivnya replied in a monotonous tone, focusing on her work.
( we have to leave on Sunday so I have to organize all the things )
After hours of continuous work and several cups of coffee, Abhimanyu finally intervened, "Shivuuu , sleep now. It's 2 AM in the morning."
"Yeah, yeah, just sleeping in 10 minutes," she replied, determined to finish her tasks.
Abhimanyu came near her and shut the laptop and took her in his arms towards the bed
" What are you doing Mr. Rathore ??? " Shivnya said irritatedly abhimanyu layed her on the bed covered her with blanket and said
" Soo jaiye MRS . RATHORE " He said and before she could say anything he said " Soo jaiye " He went toward his side of the bed to sleep , he dimmed the lights to sleep and both of them slept
( sleep MRS. RATHORE )
The next day, they both went to their office early to wrap up important meetings. Shivnya was exhausted from her workload, and when she returned home, she collapsed on the couch. Ridhimaa, seeing her tiredness, came over and started massaging her temples.
"Bahut thak gayi ho?" Ridhimaa asked with concern, noticing Shivnya's fatigue.
( are you very tired ???  )
"Haa maa," Shivnya replied tiredly, enjoying the soothing massage.
( yes maaa )
"Maa, aap rehne dijiye, hum dawai le lenge," Shivnya insisted, but Ridhimaa gently brushed off her protests, insisting on helping her relax.
( maa , leave it, I will take medicine )
Abhimanyu and Ranveer observed the scene, smiling at the bond between mother and daughter. They approached them, but Ridhimaa and Shivnya quickly changed the topic, asking them to go change while they prepared dinner.
𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐄𝐗𝐓 𝐃𝐀𝐘
Shivnya was busy in a meeting when her phone rang incessantly. Rishi, her assistant, she passed her phone to him to attend meanwhile she was busy in meeting
After an hour the meeting was finished and now she was working on some papers while Rishi came, "Ma'am, Sanj had called five times, " Rishi said, trying to get her attention.
"Leave the phone here and bring me that file," Shivnya instructed, engrossed in her work. She then called Sanj back.
"Kaha ho di, kitni baar hum phone kar chuke hai aapko," Sanj exclaimed, sounding frustrated.
( where are you dii??? I called you multiple times )
"Bache, main busy thi. Bolo, kya hua?" Shivnya replied calmly, focusing on her work.
( baby I was busy, say, what happened? )
"Hume suna hai ki aap kal Rajasthan jaa rahe ho," Sanj said excitedly, waiting for confirmation.
( I heard that you are going to Rajasthan tomorrow )
"So are you excited? After all, you are THE QUEEN of Rajasthan," Sanj added with enthusiasm.
"If you have some important work, say it. Otherwise, I am busy with my work," Shivnya responded, uninterested in the conversation.
"Diii, aapne packing kar li?" Sanj teased mischievously, knowing Shivnya's aversion to packing.
( dii , are you done with your packing?? )
"Kiski?" Shivnya replied absentmindedly, still preoccupied with her work.
( for what?  )
"Diii, Rajasthan jaane ki," Sanj reminded her, and Shivnya's eyes widened in realization.
( diii for Rajasthan )
"Shitttttt, fuck, literally shittt," Shivnya cursed under her breath, realizing she hadn't packed yet.
"I knew it," Sanj chuckled knowingly, amused by her sister's predicament.
"Tum bhi nahi ho, barley bhi nahi, who is gonna help me pack?" Shivnya panicked, feeling overwhelmed by the looming task.
( you are also not here and barley is also not here who will help in packing??? )
"Jiju hai na," Sanj suggested, knowing that Abhimanyu would assist her.
( jiju ( abhimanyu ) is there for you )
"Woh apne kaam mein busy hai. Sunn, tu aaja na ghar," Shivnya attempted to make excuses.
( he is busy in his work, listen you come home na please )
"Diii, time dekha hai aapne," Sanj pointed out dramatically, and Shivnya glanced at her watch, realizing it was already 8 in the evening.
( diii have you seen time??  )
"Damn, how is it already 8 in the evening?" Shivnya exclaimed in disbelief.
"What am I going to do now?" Shivnya sighed, feeling defeated by the situation.
"Diii, take help from jiju. He would help you pack," Sanj suggested, trying to be helpful.
"Sanj, tumhe pehle kyu nahi aaya yaad ?" Shivnya grumbled in frustration.
( sanj why didn't you make me know earlier )
"At least ab toh aagaya, nahi toh aap subah packing kar rahe hote," Sanj replied teasingly.
( at least I make you remember now or else you would be packing in morning )
Shivnya closed her files and declared, "Hogya, now I am leaving. Bye!"
"Bye diii, love you, and have a happy journey," Sanj wished her sister farewell with a smile.
"Thank you, now bye," Shivnya replied, rushing out of the office.
"Rishi, I am leaving. You prepare the papers and send them to Rathore Haveli ASAP. Take care of everything in my absence, and remember, no one should find out about my absence," Shivnya instructed her assistant before leaving the office.
~~~

Both of them entered their room after dinner. Abhimanyu was working on his laptop, and Shivnya watched him, trying to find the right words to start a conversation. Abhimanyu noticed her hesitation and spoke up.

"Kya hua, biwi? You wanna say something?" I asked, noticing the hesitance in her eyes.

( what happened wifey?? You wanna say something??  )

"Wo actually, Abhimanyu..." she began, her voice trailing off.

I switched off my laptop and walked over to her. "I'm listening," I said, encouraging her to continue.

"Aapne packing kar li?" she asked, a fake smile plastered on her face.

( have you done packing?? )

I was puzzled. Was this what she was so hesitant about? "Nahi, abhi karunga. Kyu, kya hua?"

( No, I will do it now. Why, what happened? )

She came closer, clearly struggling to find the right words. "Actually... I don't know how to pack... no, I mean, I don't know what to pack... I know what is necessary but..."

I placed my hands on her arms, trying to soothe her. "Calm down, Shivnya. Let's pack together, and I'll help you in whatever way you need. Is that okay?"

She nodded, and we both started packing. She went into the closet and packed her toiletries bag, emerging with a large pack of makeup products and other essentials. Next came the clothes. She took out several outfits and asked me, "Should I pack more sarees or suits?"

I looked at the clothes in her hands. "Whatever you are comfortable with. I don't mind."

"Say na," she said, sounding irritated.

"Okay, pack some kurtis and modern clothes as well."

She packed some modern clothes and kurtis, then held up two sarees. "Should I pack this one or that one?"

"Whichever you like, cherie," I said with a chuckle.

She frowned, setting the clothes down and crossing her arms. "What does that 'cherie' mean? Is it the fruit?"

I took a deep breath, trying not to laugh. "No, cherie."

She stepped closer, attempting to intimidate me. "Then what does it mean?"

I leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Find out yourself."

She glared at me, muttering, "Asshole."

"What did you say?"

"Nothing. We already have an early flight, we should sleep " she said, closing the bags and lying down on the bed.

~~~
~~~

The following day, we all headed to the airport in separate cars, with Shivnya leading the way. Upon arrival, we encountered paparazzi taking photos of some celebrities. However, our security team ensured our privacy as we made our way inside.

Once on the plane, I noticed Shivnya boarding our private aircraft. As we settled in, I sat beside my wife. The flight took off smoothly. It was an early morning flight, and soon, Yuvraj, Tanmay, and Shivnya were asleep. I covered Shivnya with a quilt, and she rested her head on my shoulder.

Upon landing in Rajasthan, Shivnya woke up, and we made our way to our haveli. My bua and her family welcomed us with an aarti and then said, "Wait."

She placed a kalash in front of us and started performing our aarti. After that, Shivnya kicked the kalash as instructed. Next, bua brought out a thal with vermillion water and asked Shivnya to dip her feet in it and leave her footprints on a white cloth. She did as instructed. We then entered the haveli and bent down to take blessings from bua.

"Sada suhagan raho, puto falo," she said in a monotonous tone. Then, turning to my mom, she added, "Kam se kam, bahu ko saree toh pehna kar lati. Haveli mein pehli baar aa rahi hai."

( May you always remain married and be blessed with children and prosperity)

( At the very least, you should have made your daughter-in-law wear a saree. She's coming to the mansion for the first time)

"Nalini, koi baat nahi," dadi intervened, trying to keep the peace.

( nalini is nothing to worry about )

SHIVNYA'S POV

His bua was complaining about my outfit, but my attention was elsewhere-on a cute little boy hiding shyly behind a lady. He peeked out, flashed a shy smile at me, and then quickly hid again. My curiosity was piqued; I needed to know who he was.

Just then, a person came up to me and said, "Hiii bhabhi." I greeted him back warmly, and Abhimanyu, standing beside me, said, "This is my cousin and his wife, and that's their kid." He pointed towards them, and the lady approached me with a warm greeting. I reciprocated, but my attention remained fixed on the little boy.

Noticing my focus, the lady smiled and said, "His name is Anirudh."

"Ohhh," I replied, intrigued. I knelt down to Anirudh's level and gently said, "Hiii baby." He remained silent, hiding behind his mother's legs. I looked up at her and said, "He's really shy."

"No, he's very naughty," his mother replied with a chuckle.

"Then why isn't he saying anything?" I asked, puzzled.

"Actually, your dear husband mistakenly shouted at him last time, so he has a little fear of him," Ansh, Abhimanyu's cousin, said with a teasing grin.

"Abhimanyu!" I said, giving him a stern look.

"What? I did it by mistake," he tried to defend himself. I turned back to Anirudh and said,
"Baby, you don't have to be scared of him. He's harmless. Come to me, and I'll give you chocolates and candies."

"Promise?" he said meekly, his eyes lighting up a bit.

"Pakka promise," I replied excitedly.
He hesitated for a moment, then came closer and said, "You know, you look just like an angel." His sweet compliment made me chuckle.

I stood up, scooped him into my arms, and said, "And you look like my cute prince."

"Will you be my princess?" he asked with a cheeky grin, and everyone around us laughed. I chuckled and said, "Who could deny the offer of such a cute prince?" He grinned widely and hugged me tightly.

"Bhabhi, he is very naughty," his mother said with a fond smile.

"By the way, bhabhi, my name is Ansh, and this is Radhika," Ansh introduced themselves properly, and I nodded, taking it all in.

After everyone greeted each other, we all went to have breakfast. Anirudh sat on his mother's lap, reminding me of how my mother used to feed my brother. I watched the scene, lost in memories, until I noticed Abhimanyu sitting with a stern, distant expression. As I contemplated approaching him, he spoke in a cold tone, "Shivnya, eat your food." His words shocked me; since the day we met, he had never spoken to me like that. The change in his demeanor was jarring, and though I wanted to ask him what was wrong, I knew this wasn't the right time or place. I decided to wait until later to address it.

Following breakfast, we all dispersed to our respective rooms. Upon entering mine, I discovered that Abhimanyu was not there. I searched the room thoroughly but found no sign of him. After freshening up in the bathroom, I expected him to return, but he was still missing. Growing concerned, I ventured outside to find him.
