SHIVNYA'S POV
After breakfast, we headed to the Rajvanshi mansion. Everyone was overjoyed to see us. The three munchkins ran up and hugged me as if it had been a year since we last met. Kamini Chachi performed an aarti for us, and then we entered the mansion.
Mrs. Madhu was staring at me constantly, but I ignored her and went straight to my Dadaji to get Advaith's reports. I said curtly, "Aapne kaha tha ki aap hume uski reports denge aur uske saare health updates bhi."
( You said you would give us his reports and all his health updates )
He interrupted, his eyes full of concern, "Haan, hum denge. Pehle yeh batao, kaisi ho tum? Wahaan tumhara mann laga? Tumhe humari yaad aayi? Wahaan sab log tumse pyaar se baat kar rahe hain na? Abhimanyu tumhara dhyaan rakh raha hai na?"
( Yes, I will. First tell me, how are you? Did you enjoy yourself there? Did you miss us? Is everyone talking to you lovingly there? Is Abhimanyu taking care of you? )
I was baffled by his emotions. He was the one who forced me into this marriage, and now he was acting concerned.
"Aapko kya matlab iss sabse? Aap hume reports dijiye," I said sternly.
( What do you mean by all this? Please give me the reports )
Before he could reply, I added angrily, seeing through his fake concern, "Aur ek aur baat bata doon. Shayad aapne apni biwi se kaha hoga, par unhone mujhse keh diya ki meri shaadi ke baad is ghar se saare rishte khatam. Hum apne bhai-behen se bhi nahi mil sakte, nahi toh sab kuch unhe bata dengi."
( And let me tell you one more thing. Maybe you told your wife, but she told me that after my marriage, all relationships with this house would end. I can't even meet my siblings, otherwise, they will tell everything )
He looked confused and said, "Kya kaha tumhari dadi ne tumse? Aur kab?"
( What did your grandmother say to you? And when? )
He grabbed my arms.
"Really, Mr. Viren, I am impressed by your dirty gameplay. I thought you couldn't sink lower, but I was wrong. You took my love from me, your wife took my parents from me, and now you're trying to sever my bond with my brothers and sister. Shame on you. No, shame on me for ever wanting to be like you, someone who uses relationships for personal gain," I said and stormed off.
(Viren was shocked by her statement, unable to believe his wife would do such a thing to their granddaughter. His inability to remove the hatred from her heart made him feel even more disgusted with himself.)
"Dii, yeh papers?" Divit asked as I entered the hall with the files.
( dii, what are these papers? )
"Woh kuch business-related hain," I replied with a small smile and announced, "Divit, Aayansh, come here. I want to talk to you guys."
Aayansh approached, but Divit wandered off. He soon returned, saying to Abhimanyu, "Jiju, dii aapse bhi business-related hi baat karti hai kya?"
( Jiju, does sis talk to you about business too? )
Everyone laughed. I heard his words and strictly ordered, "Divi, sit quietly."
I was anxious about making my announcement because I knew it would prompt many questions, so I preempted them, "Both of you listen to the whole thing first and then react."
They looked at me seriously, and Abhimanyu gave me a confused look. Finally, I said, "Tum dono kal se company nahi aa rahe ho."
( You both are not coming to the company from tomorrow )
Divit immediately screamed in excitement, "Work from home, wow!"
As expected, he never understood things in one go. Meanwhile, Aayansh, always sincere, made him keep quiet by saying, "Shut up, Divit."
I took the opportunity and continued, "Aayu, tum kal se Rajvanshi Group join kar rahe ho, aur Divit, tum apni padhai puri karoge. Tum dono aaj se meri company nahi aaoge."
( Aayu, you are joining the Rajvanshi Group from tomorrow, and Divit, you will complete your studies. You both will not come to my company from today )
Bhai and Aayansh exchanged glances. Aayansh gave him a look, and Bhai shook his head. Everyone was confused by my decision, but one person seemed pleased.
"Kyun dii, kuch hua hai kya?" Divit asked
( Why dii , has something happened?b)
I remained silent, unsure of how to respond.
"Bhai, dadi, maa, papa, dadu, aap logo ne kuch kaha hai?" Aayansh asked everyone.
( Bhai, grandma, mom, dad, did you all say something? )
I tried to soothe him, "Aayu, kisi ne kuch nahi kaha. Tumhe apni asli jagah par hona chahiye, aur Divit, tumhe apni padhai continue karni chahiye."
( Aayu, no one said anything. You should be in your rightful place, and Divit, you need to continue your studies. )
"Diii, humne kar li padhai. Aur aapne khud 21 ki age mein business start kar liya tha," Divit said, annoyed.
( diii, i have already studied. And you started your business at the age of 21.)
Woh meri majboori thi... Meri baat alag hai, Divi. Tum dono kal se bhai ki company jaoge, it's final," I said firmly, knowing that if I were lenient, they would never agree.
( That was my compulsion... My case is different, Divi. You both will go to Bhai's company from tomorrow, it’s final )
"Agar yeh baat hai, sorry bhaiya, hum aapki company join nahi karenge. Aur nahi dii, hum aapki company aayenge," Aayansh announced, standing up to leave.
( If that’s the case, sorry Bhaiya, we will not join your company. And no, dii, we won’t come to your company )
I grabbed Aayansh's wrist, "Aayu, Divit, humari baat manao."
( Aayu, Divit, listen to me )
"Koi zarurat nahi kisi ko company change karne ki. Sab same rahega, kuch change nahi hoga," Dadaji announced authoritatively, which fueled my anger even more.
( There’s no need for anyone to change companies. Everything will remain the same; nothing will change )
I declared, "Humari company ke decisions aap nahi lenge."
( You will not make decisions for my company )
"Humne keh diya, matlab keh diya. Isme kuch change nahi hoga," Dadaji insisted.
( What we said is what we meant. There will be no changes in this )
Before I could argue, Aayansh said, "Haan dii, hum aapke saath kaam karna chahte hain. Aur bhaiya ko jab bhi humari help chahiye hogi, hum madad karenge unki."
( Yes dii , we want to work with you. And whenever Bhaiya needs our help, we will help him )
I looked at Mrs. Madhu, who then left the room. As expected, there would be a debate, but the new motive was unclear. Their dirty politics weren't my cup of tea. I sighed in frustration. One by one, everyone left, and Chachi took me to her room, asking, "Beta, achanak kya ho gaya?"
( beta , what suddenly happened? )
I shrugged, "Yeh sab aapke pyaare mother-in-law and father-in-law ka kamaal hai. Pehle woh kehte hain ki hum inke parivaar se door rahein, aur jab hum alag kar rahe the, toh khud ne hi mana kar diya. Aap bas wait kijiye, isme bhi inka kuch dirty gameplay hoga."
( This is all the doing of your dear mother-in-law and father-in-law. First, they say i should stay away from their family, and when i was trying to separate, they themselves denied it. Just wait, there will be some dirty gameplay in this too )
"Beta, yeh tera bhi parivaar hai," Chachi said.
( beta, this is your family too )
I laughed internally, knowing this family could never be my family.
"Kaisa parivaar, Chachi? Inse achhe Abhimanyu ke mummy-papa hain. Pata hai unhone hume gift mein kya diya? Unhone humse wada kiya ki woh hume Abhimanyu aur Avni ke tarah hi treat karenge, aur woh karte bhi hain," I said, happiness filling my eyes and voice.
( What family, Chachi? Abhimanyu's parents are better. Do you know what they gave me as a gift? They promised to treat me like Abhimanyu and Avni, and they do )
Suddenly, Chachi said, "Arre, Abhimanyu beta, aaiye. Aap dono baat kijiye, hum aate hain."
( Oh, Abhimanyu, come in. You both talk; I'll step out )
She went outside, and Abhimanyu came near me, asking in confusion, "Shivnya, yeh achanak aapne..."
( Shivnya, suddenly you...)
I interrupted him, hearing footsteps, and said, "Iss baare mein baad mein baat karenge."
( We'll talk about this later )
Avni entered, grinning at both of us. We looked at each other, then at Avni, who was grinning widely.
"Bhai, bhabhi, pata hai aapko humara ek sapna tha jo shayad sach hone wala hai," she said with dreamy eyes.
( Bhai, bhabhi, do you know we have a dream that might just come true? )
"Kaunsa?" Abhimanyu asked, raising his brows. I was puzzled.
( Which one? )
"Mami aur bua ek saath banne ka," she said, and I choked on air
( To become both sides of the aunt together )
Why do these siblings always make me feel embarrassed? We aren't even close, and she's saying this. Abhimanyu noticed my reaction, rubbed my back, and said sternly, "Avni, tum apna muh band rakho."
( Avni, keep your mouth shut )
She looked at me with a smirking, narrow-eyed face and said, "Kya bhai, shaadi se pehle hi ek kamre mein, woh bhi raat bhar. Sab samajh aata hai mujhe."
( What bhai, you both in the same room, all night before marriage. I understand everything )
I looked at Abhimanyu, horrified. Avni grinned and asked playfully, "Bhabhi, waise aapki suhagraat kaisi rahi?"
( Bhabhi, by the way, how was your wedding night? )
Abhimanyu and I widened our eyes at her words. I felt a pang of shyness and quickly made an excuse, "Woh, Chachi bula rahi thi."
( Oh, Chachi was calling me )
AUTHOR'S POV
"Bhabhi, suniye toh!" Avni shouted, but Shivnya hurried away, leaving Abhimanyu to sigh, "Avni..."
( sister-in-law listen )
After giving Avni a mild scolding, Abhimanyu tried to explain that she shouldn't have behaved like that, but his words seemed to fall on deaf ears. Avni rarely listened when she was in one of her playful moods. They both walked towards where Shivnya was talking to her Chachi. Sanj and Divit were clinging to her, acting like stubborn children.
" What happened??? Why are all of you sad?? " Avni asked.
"Bhabhi, see na, dii is leaving already " Sanj whined like a baby.
" Sooo early??? Maa told me that you will stay for two -three days " Avni said, sounding disappointed.
" No no actually, I have to leave for my house also, there is a lot of stuff mine which has to be shift " Shivnya replied with a soft smile.
" Soo do it tomorrow or some other day " Aayansh said with a sad face.
" You three are acting like i am moving out of the state, we will meet again tomorrow in the office, now let me go," Shivnya said, shrugging. She walked over to Aarav and hugged him, "Bhai, apna dhyaan rakhna aur hume aapki yaad aayegi."
( bhai take care of yourself and i will miss you )
He caressed her head and replied, "Hume bhi."
( me also )
"Humari nahi aayegi?" Divit asked, and Shivnya replied teasingly, "NOO"
( you won't miss uss??? )
Everyone laughed, and she explained, "Arre, tum poore din toh mere saath office mein rehte ho."
( ohh you will stay with me in office always )
Divit went over to Kamini and said, "Badi maa, dekha aapne, dii humse bilkul pyaar nahi karti."
( badi maa ( big mom ) see yourself, dii doesn't love me now )
" Yes Chachi, soo the gift which i was thinking to buy on his birthday, let's leave all that," Shivnya teased, and Divit looked happily surprised.
"Noo nooo diii you love me, you live me the most " Divit said, and everyone laughed.
After a little more chit-chat, Shivnya and Abhimanyu finally bid goodbye to everyone and left.
ABHIMANYU'S POV
We were driving to her house when I asked, "Shivnya, did you really want to remove Aayansh and Divit from the company?"
Shivnya looked at me with a horrified expression and said, "No."
"Then why did you announce it?" I asked, confused.
"Sometimes, we have to do things we don't want to," Shivnya said, her voice heavy with emotion.
"Has somebody forced you?" I asked, my brows furrowed in concern.
"I don't want to talk about this. Can we just skip this topic?" she said, clearly uncomfortable. I hummed in response, respecting her wish.
We reached her home, and Barley welcomed us. As we entered, she instructed Barley to pack all her necessary stuff. Then she turned to me and asked, "How many cars can be parked in your parking lot?"
"But why?" I asked, puzzled.
"Actually, I want to take some of my cars with me," she replied.
"But we have cars; you don't have to do that," I said, trying to reassure her.
"Actually, I love my cars, so..." she said, her eyes sparkling with passion.
"Okay, I understand. I will check and tell you," I said. After checking with security, I told her, "You can park five cars."
"Do you want to see my car collection?" she asked excitedly, reaching out and holding my wrist. For the first time, she touched me, and I felt a surge of electricity through every nerve of my body, igniting a wildfire of passion and devotion that burned fiercely in my soul. It was a transcendent moment where time stood still, and all that existed was the intoxicating embrace of her love.
We entered her garage, and I was stunned to see around 15 luxury cars, some of them rare models. I was amazed at the car collection of my wife. She really is a force to be reckoned with; her obsession with cars spoke volumes.
"Do you like it?" she asked, looking at me with hopeful eyes.
"I am really impressed with my wife's choices," I said, genuinely in awe, and she smiled, a soft, satisfied smile.
"All of them are owned by you?" I asked, still taking in the impressive sight.
"Yes," she replied. She walked over to a man who was standing nearby and gave him some instructions. Then she came back to me and said, "Chalein?" Both of us left the garage and got into my car as all the luggage was loaded into the other cars, and we started our ride.
( let's goo?? )
As we drove, I couldn't help but glance at her, seeing the blend of strength and vulnerability in her eyes. Her passion for her cars, her determination, and her hidden pain-all of it made me want to know her better, to be there for her in every way possible.
SHIVNYA'S POV
"Did you forget the way to our house?" I asked, noticing Abhimanyu taking a different turn. He replied, "No."
"You took the wrong turn," I said, confused.
"No, I didn't. Remember I told you I'd get you a special gift?" A smile spread across my face. For the first time, I was getting a gift not on my birthday and not from my siblings but from someone else-my husband.
"Yes, I remember. But where? And you remember I said I wouldn't make any public appearances, right?" I asked, excitement bubbling inside me.
"I remember, begum. You don't need to worry," he said, using another endearing name for me that gave me butterflies. He unbuckled his seatbelt. "I'll be right back with your gift," he said and went into a shop. I waited impatiently, and after five minutes, he returned with a huge box. Handing it to me, I asked excitedly, "Such a big gift? What's inside?"
Seeing my eyes shine with excitement, he said, "Should we open it now? No, we'll open it in front of everyone," I said energetically.
"As you wish, biwi," he replied softly, focusing on the road.
"What's inside?" I asked, trying to shake the box.
"Is it something delicate?"
"Tell me!"
"Calm down, begum. We'll open it at home," he said with a chuckle. Within minutes, we reached the haveli. I didn't wait for him to open the door; I got out of the car, and we both went inside.
Yuvraj came near us and asked his brother something, but I was just too excited to see the gift Abhimanyu had brought for me. "Bhai, when did you buy those cars?"
His mother came near me and asked, "Beta, why did you come back so soon?"
"I didn't feel comfortable there. But look, Abhimanyu gave me this big gift! Can I open it?" I blabbered in excitement, not realizing I had shouted the last line. Everyone looked at me in shock. I gulped and looked toward Abhimanyu, who was also trying to understand why they were staring.
"Maa," he said, and everyone chuckled. His mother caressed my head and said, "Sorry, beta. Shivnya spoke so suddenly. We thought our bahu had changed. You were so quiet this morning. Finally, our bahu spoke up. Beta, stay like this. We are your family; you can tell us anything."
"Now we have to see the gift our son gave that made our bahu smile so much," Amrita Aunty chuckled and made us sit on the sofa. I was happy they didn't behave like my family, who never wanted to hear my stories.
"Can I open it?" I asked, and his mother nodded. I tried to open it like a mature person, but it wasn't opening, so I opened it like a 5-year-old girl. No one laughed at me; they were all smiling. Do families behave like that?
I opened the box and saw oxidized earrings, bangles, a neck choker, and some anklets. They were all so beautiful, each piece mesmerizing. I loved oxidized jewelry. I was lost in their beauty until Abhimanyu asked, "Do you like it?"
Is he crazy or what? He gifted me such beautiful jewelry, and he's asking if I like it. "I love it so much. Thank you for giving me this jewelry," I said genuinely, and everyone was happy seeing us like this.
"Bhai, did you gift both jewelry and cars?" Yuvraj asked excitedly.
"Cars?" his father asked with a frown.
"I've been hearing about cars since I arrived. I didn't give your bhabhi any cars," Abhimanyu shouted.
"Then what about those five luxurious cars outside?" Yuvi asked meekly, and I smiled internally.
"Idiot, those are your bhabhi's cars," Abhimanyu said, and everyone looked at me. Yuvi came near and asked, "Really, bhabhi?" I nodded.
"You collect cars?" he asked. I nodded meekly, feeling nervous.
"Bhabhi, can I borrow one for..." he started, but Darsh Uncle interrupted, "Yuvi, no. Shivnya, you don't need to give him your cars."
"Enough, now go away," Abhimanyu said, and Yuvi left.
"Beta, why did you come back so soon? You could have stayed a few more days," his mother asked, and I stayed silent.
"Maa, I told you I would bring Shivnya back with me, so I did," Abhimanyu said and winked at me. I smiled internally. This man always covers up things perfectly. We sat down for dinner, which was delicious, but I ate only a little.
